All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner - A Warm Meal Among Friends

On November 20, 2012 Higher Ground Church of God of Prophecy held their annual community Thanksgiving Dinner. This dinner's purpose is to provide a gathering where members and friends of our local community could come to refresh the soul, nurture the body as well as inspire and support each other as we journey together in our relationship with the Living God.

Jesus teaches that He is the “Bread of Heaven” which came down to fulfill the hunger of the souls of men (John 6:35). Whenever Jesus had the opportunity He would break bread with others. Jesus used these times of intimacy and fellowship to teach and exhort others onto greater spiritual lives (Matt. 14:19-21)

Since God is connected with the blessing of the breaking of bread as Christians we are taught to be hospitable and are encouraged to share our blessings with others.

At Higher Ground Church of God Of Prophecy we believe that every community needs a time and place to come together.  What better way to do this than an Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner with warm food around tables in friendship, laughter and being connected.
