Operation Community Christmas Shoebox
Higher Ground community concert extravaganza was held on December 15th 2012. It was a huge success. This was clear by the magnificent turnout of the community and the church members. There was not an empty pew in the church.
All the of the performing artists delivered songs and dances that was a blessing to the entire congregation. The highlight of the evening was the presenting of the gifts to the kids of the community. The youths of the church help the adults wrap and hand out Christmas gifts to the neighbors in our community. They were excited to help. But more so, the kids of the community was very happy and very appreciative to received a for Christmas. We handed out gifts to kids of ages that ranges from 3 months to 18 years. A note was place in each shoe box explaining to each kids what the true reason of Christmas is: Jesus Christ. The entire congregation helped by providing gifts, making donations and helping with the wrapping of the gifts. The community Christmas Shoebox was truly a wonderful example of sharing the love of Jesus Christ through the power of a simple gift. |
